Welcome to this website which provides a focal point for all enthusiasts of Provincial buses past and present. It was set up in 2026
The aim is to provide a source of information relating to the company in its various guises over the years, and for anything Provincial related.
The scope of this site is from the formation in1878 of Gosport Street Tramways, a subsidiary of the Provincial Tramways Company Ltd, the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Company and the Provincial Traction Company. Following this the take over by the National Bus Company, and after de-regulation in 1986, the privatised People’s Provincial company. The subsequent takeover by First Bus is out of scope of this site and is therefore not covered..
